Sarah: Hello and welcome to Discovery Road, the podcast that takes you on a journey of discovery. Today, we're exploring the Wild West, the land of cowboys and outlaws, where history and legend collide.

Jane: I'm so excited for this episode, Sarah. I've always been fascinated by the Wild West.

Sarah: Me too, Jane. And we have a special guest today who's an expert on the topic. Please welcome John Smith, a historian and author of several books on the Wild West.

John: Thank you for having me, Sarah and Jane. It's great to be here.

Sarah: So, John, can you tell us a bit about the history of the Wild West?

John: Sure. The Wild West is a term that refers to the western frontier of the United States during the late 19th century. It was a time of great change and conflict, as settlers moved westward and clashed with Native Americans and outlaws.

Jane: That's really interesting. What are some of the most famous events that took place during this time?

John: Well, there are many, but some of the most well-known include the California Gold Rush, the Battle of the Alamo, and the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
